This nimble-fingered game looks like a magic act, but it is a con-trick. Thimblerig was played frequently in Utrecht city centre in the 1980s. It was outlawed in 1991, but with this video Alberto De Michele brings it back to the public space. The Dutch-Italian artist often takes inspiration from the world of criminality. His artwork replaces the advertisements that are generally displayed in this illuminated sign and shows us another form of deception.
